Seminar Topics

The Lundbeck Institute has developed four evidence-based seminars within CNS in an effort to make the participants reach consensus on the optimal treatment of patients.

Medical treatment should no longer be a skill of individual physicians. Every patient expects to be treated according to the highest standards. Yet, this is not always the case as facts show there are large variations in cross-cultural practice and many variations from the scientific guidelines and recommendations.

The Institute uses evidence-based medicine and international guidelines as the background material of our seminars in our effort to make the participants reach consensus on the optimal treatment of patients.

Four seminar topics

The Lundbeck Institute has developed evidence-based seminars on:

All seminars have been accredited by EAC (the European Accreditation Committee in CNS) with 26 CME points each.

Seminars take place from Monday to Friday in Skodsborg, north of Copenhagen, Denmark, and on average we hold one seminar per month.

Seminar structure

About 25-30 specialists from around five different countries attend each seminar. The participants are divided into groups to discuss various scientific topics. Work is thus carried out in an international and interactive environment creating an excellent basis for the exchange of experience and ideas.

Each seminar is tailor-made and international moderators introduce a topic for discussion by presenting a summary of the latest scientific findings.

This leads to group work with different questions for each group in order to fully cover the topic. The participants present the group work results in plenary sessions with the aim of reaching a consensus through cross-cultural discussions.

Furthermore, the participants have the opportunity to meet several well-known experts during "Meet the Expert" sessions, which are also part of the seminar programmes.

The ultimate aim is to disseminate the consensus to as many healthcare providers as possible in their daily environment. This educational cascade effect is very important.

To support this, we will soon give former participants the opportunity to keep updated and stay in touch via CNSforum.
