Prof MD, DMSc. Lars Vedel Kessing
MD, DMSc, Department of Psychiatry, Rigshospitalet University Hospital, Copenhagen, Denmark.
Professor Kessing's main research interest is affective disorders. He has previously conducted extensive epidemiological research on the long-term course and cognitive outcome in major affective disorders. His current research includes the correlation between affective disorders and diseases of the thyroid and adrenal glands, as well as the correlation between affective disorders and Parkinson's disease. It further includes studies of the effect of treatment on the course of illness and on the risk of suicide.
